KindKreme: Kind and Delicious:)

Flavors for today!

I’ve been hearing lovely things about ‘KindKreme’ for a while now, so since I decided to have brunch at Sage today I had the opportunity to try some of this delectable ‘ice cream’.. KindKreme has a few locations in LA but this particular one in Echo Park is part of Sage Bistro which I reviewed here. KindKreme is a gourmet, raw, vegan, organic dessert shop

Chocolate Scoop ($3.99)

serving up hand crafted ‘ice cream flavors as well as desserts, shakes, coffees, and fresh juices, oh and some wicked sounding waffle dishes. They have flavors like Oatmeal Raisin, Mint Cacao Nib, Cookies and Cream, Banana Chocolate Swirl, Carmel Apple, Coconut, and the oh so popular Chocolate. Today I sampled a few of these and they were all crazy good,

KindKreme ( & Sage Bistro)

but I decided to go with something simple “Chocolate Scoop” ($3.99) Fresh Cacao, Nut and Coconut Based Flavor with pure Vanilla, agave, and other raw ingredients. This stuff was out of this world. I would challenge any carnivore to eat this and tell me that it is vegan. This tasted like some regular ice cream I’ve had back in ‘the day’.. this stuff is SO SO good- you have to check this place out!! Keep it Kind friends!

Sage: Epic food ..crazy service..

Sage ( & KindKreme)

So my brunch of choice today was the new Sage Bistro in Echo Park. I decided to head on over early ( they are suppose to open at 9 on Sat. & Sun.) and have a delicious breakfast. They have a huge brunch menu with items like; Sweet Potato Pancakes,

Jackfruit Chorizo Burrito

Tostadas, Jackfruit Burritos, Omlettes, Smoked Mac & Cheese, Latkes, and even more! During the week they have a huge lunch & dinner menu as well with different sandwiches, salads, side dishes, and appetizers that sound incredible. They also are connected to

Toast and 'butta'

KindKreme which serves up raw, vegan, organic ice cream and desserts. Anywho, I got there promptly at 8:55 and waited outside for 9 O’clock to hit…when it did they still were not opened so I waited a few minutes ( i saw some employees inside getting the chairs set up).. after 1o minutes past 9 and preceded to walk in and ask if they were open.. The response was almost comical.. ” well, um were suppose to be but we never have customers this early so umm..“.. OK ??? So I at least was able to wait inside for another 30 minutes ( THEN they were ready for me to order, I must add though they could not make everything as they were waiting for a delivery..oy vey- I hope the food is better than the service). Finally I ordered the ” Jackfruit Chorizo Burrito ($8.25) Smoked Spicy Jackfruit, Roasted Potato, Tofu Egg, Gazpacho, & Avocado wrapped in a Whole Wheat Tortilla served with a side of Rice and Beans & Adobo Chili Sauce. I just realized that they didn’t give me the beans or rice..but fruit.and a side of “Raisin Walnut Toast with Garlic Butter”. I will say this food made up for the awkward service. This is one of the most delicious ‘breakfast burritos’ I’ve eaten …. the flavors were just melt in my mouth delicious! The “toast” wasn’t toasted but it was pretty good.. a little strange to serve a breakfast bread with garlic butter, but I will say the butter was rockstar. Really some epic food here folks.:) SO all in all a kind of awkward start to my brunch but the food is worth a visit. Im sure i’ll be back to try some of the other amazing options they have!! Eat Clean!

a vegans oasis in Hollywood..:)

Pumpkin Chocolate Bread!

You may have seen my post on Quarry Girl for the goodies at Nite Moon Cafe in West Hollywood. It was so delicious I went back today for some more goodies so I figured I would do a little review on my site for some different yummies! Nite Moon Cafe is part of the Golden Bridge Yoga

Peanut Butter Jelly time.. 🙂

Studio and serves up a daily salad bar, some soups, sandwiches, smoothies, and of course these delectable healthy treats! The staff is fantastic and helpful and the food is all prepared healthfully. Today I got two different baked goods to tell you about:) First up is the “ Pumpkin Chocolate Bread” ($3.00) Vegan Batter filled with Chocolate Chips and Fresh Pumpkin. This was a great pumpkin bread. It was just the perfect consistency and not overly sweet tasting. Tons of fresh pumpkin and chips in it . mhm! Next up I got what I consider to be one of their best items the “Peanut Butter & Jelly Bar($3.75) Fresh Peanut Butter Layer Filled with Fruity Jelly and Topped off with Peanut Butter Crumbles. Wow- this was overwhelmingly good.. Crispy bottom but gooey center and the crumbles on top were to die for.. seriously amazing. You HAVE to try this place out..even if it is just for the baked goods! Eat Clean & Healthy!!

world’s greatest salad bar award..for sure!

Mrs. Winston's

I first heard about Mrs. Winston’s Green Grocery from fellow blogger QuarryGirl; she raved about this place and the salad bar.. I was intrigued by the fact that she called it her favorite salad bar. If you’ve read my blog you know that Im a huge salad person. I love a good salad, and most days will order that for lunch and my restaurant of choice. Obviously I had to check out Mrs.

Salad Goodies!

Winston’s, so that is exactly what I did today:) Mrs. Winston’s is a small grocery store with a HUGE Salad & Sandwich Bar, fresh produce, and some healthy snacks. They have 3 locations 2 in Santa Monica and this one.The moment I walked in I was BLOWN away by how many different choices of veggies, proteins, soups, breads, pasta salads, quinoa/rice

amazing salad!

dishes they had ;even oatmeal for breakfast, fresh fruit, chocolate pudding, and rice pudding <all vegan).. OH MY WORD how would I choose??! Everything is $7.95 per pound. *Fun Fact* {on Friday if you guess the weight of your food you get it free… good luck}} SO I basically put a little bit of everything in my container that I could fit that was vegan to try. “Salad Bar” ($7.95/pound)

pasta salads!

Potato Salad, Kung Pao Tofu, Curry Tofu, Turkey Salad, Bean Salad, Kale Salad, Fresh Veggies, “Cheezy Garlic Pasta”, Macaroni Salad, Spicy Super Green Noodles, Chic ‘N’ Pasta, Peanut Tofu, and delicious Sprouts.. WOW SO many ingredients in one container??!! Every single one of these ‘salads’ was a home run.. absolutely scrumptious. I love it when my salads

yum dessert!

have ‘ a lot goin’ on’ and this totally did.. You can try a bit of everything – At the end of the salad bar they also have lots of different dressings, nuts, soy bacon, seasonings, breads, and crackers to go with your meal. For my dessert they had “Chocolate Pudding & Fruit($7.95/pound) Fresh Chilled Chocolate Pudding with a side of Mixed Fresh Fruit & some Banana Chips. This pudding was great- thick not to sweet paired perfect with the fresh fruit! Im absolutely smitten about Mrs. Winston’s (being the salad lover that I am). One downside is it is a take-out only place so there isn’t any place to sit ( i believe the SM locations have outside seating)..BUT the Westfield Century City Mall is literally steps away and has a lovely inside/outside food court to enjoy your meal problem solved!! Head over asap to have the most amazing salad experience of your life!! Eat green..really!

Erewhon: a new favorite !

Every time I head to the Grove to grab a coffee or do a little shopping I always drive by “Erewhon Natural Foods Market”, and want to stop in but never seem to..until today! I finally made my way inside what seems to be a small health food store but it is SO much more!! This place has SO much healthy and VEGAN food inside. They have a salad bar, soup bar, prepared foods case, crazy amounts of raw food dishes, prepared dishes, groceries, fruit, a smoothie bar, and

Vegan Goodness!

some delicious vegan baked goods!!  They even have food dishes pre packaged from a vegan restaurant in Hollywood called “ Rahel Vegan” was so surprised that this store packed all this greatness inside! I had already eaten but I did decide to try one of their vegan cookies the “Oatmeal Raisin Cookie” ($1.99) Fresh Oatmeal Batter with Plump Raisins full of healthy ingredients. I adore this cookie. Im going back tomorrow to get some more vegan stuff from the store.

Prepared Goods & Baked Goods

I really wasn’t expecting it to taste so good. .. simple ingredients, but this cookie killed it. I am so excited to head back to try some more stuff! Check it out maybe stop in before you hit wholefoods for a little mix up:):)Shop Green!

Fratelli on Melrose:)

Fratelli Cafe

Today I stumble upon Fratelli Cafe on Melrose for a nice lunch:) They are right across the street from one of my favorites M Cafe – but I decided to try something new today. Fratelli Cafe is not 100% vegan but has a “Very Vegan” menu that is FULL of vegan goodness! They have Wraps, Salads, Breakfast Items, Sandwiches, and great teas & coffees. They have Soy

Goji Tea & Fruit

Cheese, Tofurkey, “chicken”, and tofu. They have really brought so many vegan choices to their cafe- and Im so glad! First thing I noticed was the super friendly guy at the counter, when I told him I was vegan he gave me some great recommendations and also offered to make anything I specifically came up with! I decided to stick with a his recommendations and it was a good decision:) I started off with a cup of “Goji Berry tea”($1.75) Fresh Plump Goji Berries brewed with hot water and natural flavors. This was some scrumptious tea.. what is really cool about it is that after your done drinking it, you can tear open the bag and eat the goji berries. mhm! I also got a “Small Fruit Bowl($1.00) Oranges, Grapes, and

Mexican Cilantro Wrap

Melon. Just a simple little appetizer but super fresh and juicy fruit! Now for my main entree I chose the “Mexican Cilantro Wrap($10.95) ‘Chicken’, Lettuce, Tomato, Salsa, Red Onions, Avocado, Cilantro Dressing, Veganaise, and Shredded Soy Mozzarella. Wow- this is quite possibly the yummiest wrap I’ve had. It literally just melted in my mouth. It was stuffed full of ingredients! It’s served with

a side salad which was just as fresh and tasty as the wrap. So happy I chose this!! I really enjoyed my visit to Fratelli, the only thing is no vegan baked goods (* they use to have them brought in, but that is no more) .. Hopefully they’ll bring some good vegan baked goods in!! Love you Fratelli!!Eat Clean.

Sweet E’s: Cutest little cupcake shop:)

Sweet E's Bake Shop!

So today for a little vegan treat I decided to check out Sweet E’s ” The Mini Bake Shop”. They are not 100% vegan but carry vegan cupcakes, brownies, cupcake pops, and get this frosting cones! Everything is made ” miniature” , and super cute:). The shop is equally as delightful as the desserts are ( they also have a mobile truck so check the website link at the bottom for a weekly schedule!). Little tables for dining, pink

designs, and they also carry teas & coffee. The servers were very helpful and friendly as well! Today I got myself a little mixed box of these mini goodies. I first got the “Chocolate Fudge Brownie” ($1.50) Gooey Vegan Chocolate Batter filled with Chocolate Chips baked to perfection. It was really yummy! It was super moist but with a nice crisp top. delicious. Then I got the ” Vanilla Vanilla Cupcake” ($2.00) Multicolored Vanilla

Vanilla Vanilla Cupcake ($2)

It had the colored batter like the old funfetti cakes.. brought me back to childhood.ha  Crunchy little fun sprinkles on top. Love it! I also got the “Red Velvet Cupcake” ($2.00) Red velvet Cake with Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting. Red Velvet is such a delicious batter, and they did this cupcake good!
