Cafe Blossom: Sunday Favorite:)

Caesar Salad ($15)

I seem to find myself stopping in to Cafe Blossom every Sunday after church.. It’s so close to my church so it makes it convenient. Plus the food is killer so why not?:) I’ve been going to Blossom for a

Cookie ($3)

while now and I haven’t been disappointed yet. The service is always top notch along with the cuisine! Today I decided to order the “ Caesar Salad with Tempeh Bacon” ($15.00) Romaine

Heaven on a plate!

Lettuce, Rosemary Croutons, Pine Nut Parmesan, Tapioca Cheese Crisps, Truffle Caesar Dressing and Tempeh Bacon. This salad was perfect one of the best caesars around! The croutons were so flavorful with the fresh rosemary and a sweet tangy dressing with smoky tempeh.. yum yum yum! I really liked this salad, light and delicious! For dessert I decided to get the ” Chocolate Chip Cookie” ($3.00) Fresh Batter filled with Chocolate Chips drizzled with a Vegan Chocolate Sauce.” YUM I have no idea what they put in these cookies but they are fabulous! I would challenge anyone who isn’t vegan to tell me they can taste a difference.. The only difference is it is fresh and vegan and healthy! LOVE Cafe Blossom- everything about this place is great! Check them out if your ever on the Upper West Side- you won’t be sorry! Eat clean and healthy! Until next Sunday Blossom:)

Cafe Blossom: Brunch

"Country Breakfast" ($12) Tempeh Bacon ($3)

So I went back to one of my favorite cafes here on the UWS for brunch: Cafe Blossom offers delicious lunch sandwiches, and salads, upscale dinner entrees, smoothies, desserts, and what I went for today brunch🙂 They have a great brunch menu that offers Chocolate Chip or Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast, Crepes, Quinoa and Peach Porridge and what I got “The Country Breakfast”($12 + Tempeh Bacon $3) Tofu Scramble, Sweet Potato Hash Browns, Mixed Greens, and Sauteed Mushrooms ( I replaced those with Onions) and Tempeh Bacon additionally with Multi Grain Toast and Apple Chutney. This was one of the greatest brunch meals I’ve had in the city! The Sweet Potato Hash Browns were so flavorful and crisp! Great Apple Chutney as well sweet with a little bit of tanginess to it! Along with the soft tofu scramble and peppers with bacon. YUM! What a delicious brunch! I always love going to Cafe Blossom.. It’s a place you should stop by if your in nyc.. They are sister restaurants to Blossom Chelsea, Cocoa V ( vegan Chocolate Bistro) and the newly opened V-Note is connected as well in the UES. Eat healthy and enjoy!

Cafe Blossom:

"Edamame" ($7.00)

Im certainly no stranger when it comes to eating at Cafe Blossom on the UWS. One of my favorite things to eat there is the ” soy bacon cheeseburger” which Is amazing but Im always surprised that the soy patty doesn’t even come close to filling the size of the bun, I’ve read other reviewers who agree. I’ve reviewed the

"Soy Bacon Cheeseburger" ($13)

burger before here but today I decided to get the burger on wheat bread and to my excitement the burger covers all of the bread …I now have a new favorite twist on that delicious burger… So I started off with “Edamame” ($7.00) A huge plate of Soybeans in the Pod, steamed to perfection. I really enjoyed these, they give you a huge plate but it was light and delicious! Then as my entree I went with the ” Soy Bacon Cheeseburger w/ Side Salad” ($13.00) Caramelized Onions, Tapioca Cheddar Cheese, Soy Bacon, Mushrooms ( which I opted out off), Lettuce, Tomato, and Chipotle Aioli Served on a Sesame Bun ( BUT I ordered Multi Grain Toast which is way better! no charge either for the change!). LOVE this sandwich it’s got that gooey tapioca cheese and a grilled soy patty with sweet onions and a delicious aioli..so good..especially served on the multi grain toast…You must try this with the toast! You won’t be sorry! The side salad was amazing as well. They serve it with a Balsamic Dressing and it was some seriously good dressing.. a lovely sweet flavor ! Mhm! I love Cafe Blossom- Keep an eye out there switching there menu for fall next week..so im told!! Heading over to the East side to check out the new restaurant of theres “V-note” this weekend! Eat Clean and healthy!

Cafe Blossom: NYC

So life has brought me back to the big apple for a bit.. who knows exactly how long…eventually plan on heading back out to LA but a couple of great internship opportunities have come up here so I’ll be doing that along with school and OF COURSE blogging about some amazing vegan food. I plan on doing more of NYC and lots of the east coast since those trains are so handy:) enough blabbing I’ll go ahead and give you what you want. that delicious food review right? 😉

My mom is up here which is always so much more fun ( someone to enjoy a good meal with and we split) . Today was a Cafe Blossom day. right on Columbus Ave. on the upper west not far from the new apartment. but let me say with this heat it seemed MUCH further honestly, has NYC ever been so hot??!

We started of with two nice cooling ginseng teas- which quickly took the body temps. down thank God.

Sweet Potato Autumn Rolls ( $11)
Red Quinoa Salad ($12)
TOFU BLT ($13)

Then we ordered the Autumn Sweet Potato Rolls($11) as an appetizer – this is a raw and gluten free appetizer if that tickles your fancy;) These little rolls were filled with coconut noodles, jicama, carrot, red and yellow pepper, scallion, avocado, served along with an almond ginger dipping sauce. These were nice and refreshing but I can’t say that I would order them again. They serve better almost as a palate cleanser maybe between a course if you will. They were not bad by any means it was just as if I was eating cut up veggies with not to much spice. Kudos to Cafe Blossom for offering a Raw and Gluten Free dish though:) Then we split the Tofu BLT($13) which was simply delicious. A big sandwich ( so you can split and feel content after your meal) but also light. A big piece of grilled tofu, tempeh bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a basil mayo. All of the sandwiches come with either french fries, sweet potato fries, or a house salad. You can substitute for steamed or sauteed greens ($2) which is just what we did – love the greens:) This was great just what we needed on a hot day.. Im not sure the exact kind of bread it is served on but its fantastic! Im also a big fan of vegan sauces and different aiolis. This tomato basil mayo was light and creamy and delicious ( side note: My favorite vegan sauce is the Tempeh Reuben Sauce at Chef Brookes in Fort Myers- I would drink that really. ). We also split the Red Quinoa Salad ($12) this was served with red quinoa, black beans, julienne peppers, watercress, toasted seeds, mango guacamole, and a lemon vinaigrette. This was a cooling salad ( which once again works perfect for a hot summer day in the city) light and fluffy quinoa but a little crunch with the seeds and beans. Very light and another great GF option. All in all a delicious lunch at Cafe Blossom. If your ever hanging around the upper west side I’d recommend stopping in for a quick healthy lunch or maybe a smoothie to cool down:).

Correction, THIS will be my last food review for New York City for a while.. For my “last meal” here in the city I took my mom to an old favorite ( well technically she took my since she payed) Cafe Blossom on the Upper West Side. We got the cajun seitan sandwich which I’ve already wrote about so I wont go over how delicious it is AGAIN, as an appetizer we tried something new the ” Black Eyes Pea Cakes with Chipotle Aioli.. I have to say i was skeptical as to how good these would be but they were delicious.. I knew I loved the aioli dip because it’s on the sandwich but the little cakes which come as 2 were really yummy a nice thick cake of potato, red bell pepper and black eyed peas. If you ever hit Blossom you must get those:) $8 for the 2 but keep in mind all organic and worth the money. Also got a “Pink Lady Smoothie” freshly made with beets, carrots, and pineapple. Healthy and yummy a nice deep red beet color:) Health taste delicious. We then headed downtown to Babycakes and had fresh banana bread with chocolate frosting served by Jessie:) Thats the food review..

As for life.. ALL packed up and moving to West Hollywood Ca. tomorrow:) I will miss this city but will still have the apartment and visit a lot! I love this city and always will:) Many of you know my love of Babycakes Vegan Bakery on the lower east side here in the city. WELL they have one they’ve recently opened in LA ( lucky me ;)} I was happy about that knowing that I would still have my lovely babycakes- BUT Jessie the BEST employee of Babycakes and sweetest person I would miss BUT I found out that she’ll be in LA tuesday for a month to help out with the Babycakes there. SO I’m excited about that:) Life is grand and getting grander..

I’m always tempted when I go to Blossom to go right back to my normal Southern Seitan Sandwich order ( which is so good)- But today I felt like a nice light salad with some seitan in it. I ordered the Spring Salad which is so good! Tomatoes, carrots, jicima, with a nice light dressing. Along with the seitan for some protein:). Yummy salad- of course my favorite salad in the city is at Peacefood.. but Blossom always wins for sandwhiches:)

Tried a new sandwhich. “Soy Bacon Burger” topped with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and chipotle aioli with some cole slaw. HUGE! Also got some really good charred brussel sprouts. they were really good:) This is one of the best sandwiches to order here at Blossom. A healthy version of a cheeseburger with some crunchy soy bacon! YUMM .

So today I went to Blossom Cafe on the Upper West Side.. right near the museum. Its an amazing little vegan organic restaurant:) The staff was really nice and the food was amazing! Of course I had to try their caesar salad which was awesome and I got some BBQ seitan over a Jicama and Carrot shred. Both were SOOO good. After I took home a couple of raw granola cookies which were just as good! Love this little cafe – definitely will go back!
