Peacefood Cafe: your service disappointed me today:(

"Pumpkin Spice Bread" ($3.95)

So as Im sure you’ve read on some of my other Peacefood reviews: I generally have really good things to say about it but today was disappointing in terms of service.. First I’ll start of with something new that I tried today ” Pumpkin Spice Bread” ($3.95) Fresh Pumpkin Batter baked and topped with Vanilla Frosting. I really enjoyed this bread ( as I do most of there baked goods) It was fresh and well spiced with a sweet frosting. Great for a nice crisp sunny day! Along with this I ordered a salad that I have previously reviewed and a side of pumpkin ( which normally takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare.. I mean its lettuce? ) Today I waited 30 minutes for a salad! I kept asking and the waitress simply responded that it’s not her it’s the kitchen.. When i started seeing other people who had arrived after me getting there lunch ( things that take much longer than lettuce like: dumplings, paninis, and even a women getting a salad ordered after me)  I asked again and she said “the kitchen said soon, I cant really do anything you can cancel if you want”.. No help at all. Since I had already waited so long I kept waiting and finally it arrived along with my check.. First off I ALWAYS get a side of mustard with my pumpkin and have NEVER been charged anything for it.. well on the bill $1 mustard was so I told her the situation and she said well it’s always been a $1 , so I told her I didn’t want it .. she tossed it in the trash… Good service in my opinion would have been to tell me that she’s not sure why I had NEVER been charged in the past and would not charge me this time ( since she already brought it to the table) but from now on it would be $1 ( which I wouldnt have payed but still) BUT she didn’t. Very rude, and slow service today.. disappointing.. I don’t think I’ll be going to Peacefood for any sit down meals anymore perhaps just grabbing some baked goods to go… Peace for now!

Cinnamon Roll ($3.50)

Cranberry Pumpkin ($2.95)

Peacefood Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat in the city! I’ve reviewed many times before lunch items, and breakfast but today is a review of some little healthy goodies:) We decided to split 2 things.. Because having 2 is always better than one;) We first ordered the ” Cinnamon Roll” ($3.50) Vegan, good for you ooey gooey cinnamon roll with vegan cream cheese, nuts, and sprinkles of cinnamon.. I can’t say enough things about this amazing roll… Healthy, freshly made, gooey and delicious! We also split the muffin of the day, which today was ” Pumpkin Cranberry Muffin” ($2.95) Spelt flour filled with dried cranberries, and pumpkin seeds. I loved this muffin! Light and fluffy with juicy cranberries. YUM! Peacefood, you never let me down..and I don’t think you ever will:) Eat Clean and healthy !

Peacefood Cafe:

"Chili and Cornbread" ($7.50)

I always find myself wandering into Peacefood Cafe on the UWS on rainy days, and today was no exception… Headed in to relax and have a cup of tea, and decided to try something new today. ” Chili and Cornbread” ($7.50) Mixed Veggies and Soy in a Tomato based stew. The Chili was really yummy, although nothing like a normal bowl of chili.. Its more like a Vegetable stew so don’t go in expecting a thick bean like chili.. The cornbread was fantastic! Light and fluffy.. a lovely topper to the chili! Another great meal at Peacefood.. Eat Clean and healthy:)

Chocolate Banana Bread ($3.50)

"Asian Green" ($9.95)

"Asian Green" ($9.95)

One of my most adored places to eat at has to be Peacefood Cafe on the Upper West Side. It’s a nice cafe to come in for a hot drink and dessert to read a book and also a great place for a great healthy meal. Totally vegan and healthfully made Peacefood offers a twist on your ordinary Vegan food. Scones, muffins, cookies, sandwiches, salads, soups, paninis, pizza, and so much more! I’ve been so many times but got a little something different today. I started off with “Banana Chocolate Chip Bread” ($3.50) A Huge slab of freshly made bread oozing with bananas and choclate chips. I am in love with this bread. The consistency was *perfect* and you could just taste the fresh banana inside. I will definitely be getting this again! Then I ordered the “Asian Green Salad” ($9.95) Seasoned Baby Asian Vegetables, Mixed Sprouts, Shredded Carrots, Tomatoes, Marinated and Baked Tempeh, Ground Peanuts, in a Garlic, Ginger, Cilantro, Ponsu Sesame Dressing. This is my new favorite salad in all of NYC and possibly anywhere else.. So good in fact Im considering going back tomorrow for the same thing! Full of healthy veggies and crunchy jicama with soft tempeh strips marinated to perfection! The Ponsu sauce was addictive! Sweet and savory.. I can’t say enough good things about this salad.. you have to make the trip just to taste this delicious garden of food! The staff at Peacefood always makes dining here even better. The owner Eric has always got a smile on his face and greeting everyone while working hard. My server Daniel today was very attentive and kind- which makes me want to go back even more.. so maybe I’ll see you again tomorrow peacefood. Eat Clean and Healthy!

Crisp on the tip and soft in the center..freshly baked.. the perfect morning snack!  This served with a big cup of there hot apple spiced tea made the morning relaxing and delicious. Chickpea Fries ($7.00)

Today at Peacefood I finally tried the “Chickpea Fries($7.00) delicious soft chickpeas with a crunchy baked outside served with a house dipping sauce that reminded me of a ranch sauce” These things were amazing.. I was a little skeptical at first ( I suppose thats why it took me so long to try them) but these were one of my favorite appetizers at peacefood. If you go to peacefood..order these. This is a great cafe on the upper west side with salads, soups, raw dishes, desserts, sandwiches, smoothies, dumplings, anything and everything you could possible imagine VEGAN and HEALTHY! This is also a great place to bring the kiddos to they have Baked soy nuggets, veggie plates and of course the chickpea fries:) Give it a try- you wont be sorry!

This past week, has been slightly stressful- nothing in particular just life in general. but I suppose you roll with the punches right? Let me just say I am not a fan of rain, let me say I’m really not a fan of rain in New York City.. why you ask? Lets start of with gross streets filled with dirty water – not bad enough is that the wind was so heavy ( hurricane force or so i’ve heard) so basically any umbrella I did have was destroyed.. total count of ruined umbrellas this week = 4 . I need to get a really strong umbrella. I always question though.. why don’t they use something stronger to make umbrellas something that won’t self destruct in the wind.. So the umbrella was a fail I got soaked pretty much two days in a row.. then the whole wet sneakers thats just nasty. So needless to say I am so glad that the rain has gone and this week is suppose to be lovely. highs in the 50’s? really? love you new york:) Today was just a light rain so it was great compared to the monsoon yesterday..(;)} had a relaxing day headed to Peacefood for the best vegan caesar salad in the city along with a freshly squeezed glass of O.J. lots of vitamin C today:) Feeling kind of tired and blah maybe it’s the rain eh? Hopefully things will be looking up the rest of the week and if things aren’t looking up I suppose I will be:)! thats all for now folks. I’ll leave you for a little eye candy to slobber at;)
