The Organic Grill: Brunch

So me and my mom decided to go to a place we had only been once before ( and for lunch). The Organic Grill– we were drawn in by the fantastic brunch menu offerings we found online… We started off splitting a “Large Tea Pot Green Pineapple Papaya” ($9.00) Loose Leaf homeade pressed tropical fruity tea. This was delicious tea, although the menu shows it as being $6.00 when in fact it is $9.00 which we only discovered upon receiving the bill. We thought we would try some type of veggie dish as an appetizer so we settled on the “Hummus and Veggies” ($8.50) A big portion of fresh hummus with Mixed Veggies. The hummus wasn’t overly spiced which tasted great and I loved the different mixture of vegetables on the plate..and it was huge! Then we decided to split 2 brunch entrees.. First of we were indecisive so we got the “Indecisive Special” ($11.50) 2 Blueberry Slamcakes, Tofu Scramble, and Soy Sausage. These babies were amazing! Filled with fresh succulent blueberries just oozing out. I also have to mention how tasty the scramble was.. My mom even adored it and she isn’t to big on tofu. The sausage was cooked to perfection and all together this was a spectacular item! For the second split we ordered the “Super Seed Waffles” ($9.25) with “Fresh Fruit” ($2.00) (Wheat Free). 2 waffles with Flax, hemp, and chia seeds, accompanied with Tempeh Bacon, and a side of tofu whip. WOW so yummy! Thick crispy seeded waffles with fresh fruit and maple syrup delicious. If that wasn’t enough already they added some creamy tofu whip for an extra shot of happiness! I love the Organic Grills Brunch! I would definitely say this is one of the BEST brunches I’ve had in NYC.. So check it out if your ever in the area:) EAT clean and healthy!

The Organic Grill

For this post at least today me and my mom went to “The Organic Grill” on East 8th a little past Union Square. Nice area near NYU so a lot of college students and what not, a bit of a calm from the madness of midtown. They have everything from Vegan waffles, and tofu scramble served all day to fajitas, soups, grilled pizza and sandwhiches, and of course desserts:) We split the special for today which was the Seitan fajitas. sizzling hot plate of seitan with onions and peppers served with fresh veggies and guac with a whole wheat tortilla of course, we also split the Caesar Salad. Delicious completely different from the one at peacefood and really yummy:)
We then split a piece of vegan cherry pie and tiramisu ( we couldn’t decide on just one .ha – The desserts looked so good I forgot to take a picture of them. once again next time:) } This place is def. a great little cafe that has amazing organic food:)
