Vegan Marshmallows? I think so!

pure Heaven.

Let me start this post with asking- who doesn’t love a good smore? or perhaps marshmallows in your hot chocolate? what about peeps at easter? or those lovely rice crispy treats we all indulged in as kids? All of these things us vegans miss out on because of gelatin in normal marshmallows!:( Now the good news; Sweet and Sara! Sweet and Sara is ┬áthe original manufacurer of 100% gelatin free, vegetarian & vegan marshmallows, and they are dang good. They have numerous products such as ; Easter Peeps, Rice Crispy Treats, Macaroons, Biscottis’s, Mini

Peanut Butter Smores.

Marshmallows, Vanilla Marshmallows, Coconut Marshmallows, Original Smores, Peanut Butter Smores, Rocky Road Bark, Cinnamon Pecan Marshmallows, and Strawberry Marshmallows. Their products can be ordered online or can be found at your local Whole Foods or possibly a health market in your town ). I was fortunate enough to attend the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival this past Sunday and I was a frequent visitor at their booth and got to try most all of these goodies! EVERY single thing that I tried knocked my socks off. I have never tasted ANY

Original Smores.

My favorite of all the goodies was the “Peanut Butter Smores” ($3.95) Fresh Marshmallow with Graham Cracker, Chocolate and Peanut Butter. absolutely the best marshmallow ever created! I could have eaten 20 of these babies! MHM Another great one was the “Original Smores” ($3.95) Marshmallow with a base of Graham Cracker Crust, and Chocolate on top. This one was scrumptious, just brings you right around the camp fire again! Perfection:) Sweet and Sara you are amazing- vegan would be lost without you!

Steaz..My new favorite drink!

Blueberry Pomegranate ($1.59)

So standing in line at Wholefoods the other day ( which I’ve done a million times before) I saw a new drink staring at me from the drink cooler not far from the line…”Zero Calorie” caught my eye so I had to check it out ( because really who isn’t interested in zero calorie???) Steaz is a health company manufacturing organic micro- brewed tea…and now ZERO CALORIE Steaz. which was named the “Best New Organic Beverage”. The zero calorie line has a few different flavors like : raspberry, orange, black cherry, and my personal favorite blueberry

Orange ($1.59)

pomegranate ( Im drinking one now:D). This 12 fl oz. drink is brewed with sparkling green tea, has 120 mg of antioxidants, and full of B Vitamins and is sweetened naturally with stevia.. I know some of you are rolling your eyes ( calorie free cannot taste good!..oh it can).. This is my favorite drink and definitely worth a try! I found my steaz at Wholefoods in NYC, but they can most likely be found at any health food store !!  Cheers!

Who needs sugar?

Stevia in the Raw

So I consider myself to be a VERY strict vegan… I suppose on a vegan diet your allowed to eat sugar ( as long as it is vegan)..candies, sugary drinks, vegan treats with sugar, etc. but I made the decision to keep a diet of wholesome, sugar free, healthy organic vegan food.. no sugar, no white flour.nothing unhealthy…Sometimes that can be difficult but a product that is becoming popular fast, has made this lifestyle a bit easier. “Stevia” .. Stevia has many different brands, and varieties ( granulated form, powder).. So I thought I would tell you about 2 of my favorite types.. First of let me start by saying that a big selling point of Stevia is that it is calorie free.. you heard me calorie free. Great for people on diets or who like that sweet taste without the guilt of calories or carbs.. The first brand I’ll tell you about it “Stevia in the Raw” you can normally purchase this at Wholefoods or even

your local grocery store. . Stevia in the Raw I would recommend using for Iced or cold drinks.. I find that it absorbs best in those items… The next type is NuStevia this product I don’t think you will find at a local grocery store.. You’ll most likely have to hit a Health food store to find it! I really like this one in Hot drinks or if you buy the powder form for baking. .. Well that’s all my two cents. I recommend you at least try Stevia once… You may never go back to sugar again:)
