Cafe Muse has *new* vegan goodies!

Cafe Muse in West Hollywood has some of the most delicious vegan food! They also have one of the best “mexican salads” here..mhmm.. I’ve reviewed a few times before, which you can check out here and my only complaint was that they didn’t have any fresh vegan baked goods.. that is until today! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they now carry vegan cupcakes, and vegan brownies! I got the “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake” ($2.00) Fresh Chocolate Batter Topped with a Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting. This was a pretty freaking yummy cupcake, a mini cupcake which is a perfect little bite after a delicious filling meal ! I just had to let everyone know that Cafe Muse has everything you would want as a vegan now that they carry some goodies!! Go check the new goodies out:):)

Mexican Salad

SO I love the food at Cafe Muse! I’ve been here a couple of times before, and haven’t been disappointed in anything I’ve ordered. They are located in the Theater District on Santa Monica Blvd, situated comfortably on the corner. They have a huge menu with some delicious fake ‘meats’ , salads, sandwiches, wraps, some killer chili and delicious appetizers! Last time I was there they had a mexican salad as a special so I stopped in today in hopes they would

still have it..and they did! I got the ” Mexican Salad” ($10.95) Fresh Romaine Lettuce topped with Black Beans, Veggie Meat, Onions,Corn, Vegan Cheese, Fresh Tomatoes, Avocados ( i traded those out for peppers), and Tortilla Pieces served with Ranch Dressing. One of the best mexican salads I’ve ever had…  It had so much going on!! Crunchy textures, creaminess of the dressing and flavorful veggies and meat! I will definitely be ordering this again!! MHM. In addition I got a side of ” BBQ Chicken” ($3.95) Strips of Soy ‘Chicken’ flavored with a fresh BBQ Sauce. I love this stuff chopped up and mixed in the salad!! Has a lovely smokey flavor- super good!  Needless to say I am a big fan of Cafe Muse – However I would LOVE if they baked their own vegan goodies..that would be the topper on my cake;) Eat clean and healthY!

Cafe Muse: a new Food muse perhaps?;)

Hummus Plate ($7.95)

Cafe Muse is a lovely cafe right on Santa Monica Blvd- but a little bit out of the “busy” way. Kind of in the theater/artsy area..They have a small area of local artist work inside which is cool!. They have a HUGE menu – not entirely vegan but now most everything can be made vegan ( soy cheese, soy meats etc.) They have a little bit of everything here.. breakfast, sandwiches, salads, pizza, wraps, and soups. I’d been here once before

Create Your Own Salad ($8.95)

but forgotten how delicious it was! Today me and my mom stopped in for a bite post workout! We started off with the “Hummus Plate” ($7.95) Homemade Hummus served with Chopped Black Olives & Fresh Tomatoes, with Baked Tortillas. We both agreed that this was one of the *best* appetizers we’ve eaten.  Delicious flavorful hummus with crisp tortillas topped with tomatoes – it was almost a bit of a mexican pizza flavor. ha

Reuben Sandwich ($9.95)

Then we ordered two dishes and split- as per usual.  “Create Your Own Healthy Salad” ($8.95) Mixed Greens, Red Onions, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Black Beans, & BBQ ‘Chicken’ served with Ranch. The Create Your Own is fabulous they have a lot of different options to! You choose 3 veggies, 1 protein, and then a cheese or bean type mixing.  We picked the perfect combination of goodies! This was a killer salad and the ‘chicken’ is to die for.. Grilled to perfection! We also split the “ Reuben Sandwich“ ($9.95) Veggie Ham, Veggie Mozzarella, served with Sauerkraut, & Thousand Island Dressing served on Pumpernickel. One of the most delicious reuben sandwiches I’ve ever had..seriously guys, SO good:) The sandwich comes with a choice of salad, sweet potato fries, or tortilla chips as well. Amazing dishes! The staff is great as well, my *only* complaint is that they didn’t offer any vegan desserts really.. they had a couple of pre packaged cookies brought in from other places, but would LOVE to see some in house baked vegan goodies!! Cafe Muse: WeHo CA.

Today I went to a new little cafe. Cafe Muse on Santa Monica BLVD. A bit off the beaten path, so you wouldn’t know this place existed unless you look it up online or you work down there. It’s on Theater Row.. close to a lot of studios, production companies. . The place is pretty much a corner hole in the wall which doesn’t look to appealing from outside. The food was really delicious though.. the staff was not overly friendly, kind of “whatever” about customers if you will.. The food made up for it though. I ordered an no sugar Arnold Palmer to drink which was really refreshing and good- more tart than a normal sugar A.P. really good. Then I got the BBQ “Chicken” wrap in a whole wheat tortilla with red onion, fresh tomatoes, and greens with ranch dressing – this wrap was great came out fresh and hot a light refreshing meal for my side I got veggie chili which was also really good and hot- since it was a little chilly today.. This place has great food but I don’t know that I would travel so far out when there are great places closer by ( Manis, Real Food Daily, Veggie Grill)… But it was a good meal for today!
