I will say though this thing is filling so it’s a great little snack to split with someone or take home for later!! Love JivamukTea- absolute NYC MUST!! Eat Clean and Healthy Kiddies!!

JivamukTea Cafe: Cupcake time!

"Coconut Cupcake" ($2.5)

So Im a frequent at JivamukTea Cafe and I normally order the same thing, because it’s so darn good..(oh those oatmeal raisin cookies) sadly they were out of them today.. That did however force me to try a couple of new things ( 1 to go). First off I got the “Coconut Cream Cupcake” ($2.50) Vanilla Batter with a Creamy Vanilla Frosting with Shreds of Coconut on top. This was a scrumptious little cupcake.. Im not a

"Cream Cheese Cupcake" ($3.25)

huge cupcake person but if you are and you enjoy a little coconut kick then you’ll love this cupcake! Next up is the “Black Bottom Cream Cheese Cupcake” ($3.25) Chocolate Battered Cake filled with a Vegan Cream Cheese Center. This was a nice balance of “chocolate” and “cream cheese” filling.. I really enjoyed this one. I must admit though I find the cupcake cost to be a bit much for the size of the cupcake and Im not sure why the cream cheese cupcake cost more?.. These tiny cupcakes put together probably are about the size of what a normal cupcake would be but cost double! Love you JivamukTea but you should lower the cost of the cupcakes.. or keep a full stock of the oatmeal raisin cookies in!! Thanks for all the healthy delicious cookin’ ya do:) Eat Clean and HealthY!

JivamukTea Cafe: Gluten Free Muffins!

Strawberry Peach Muffin (GF)

So JivamukTea Cafe is one of my favorite places ( if not number one) here in NYC. I visit for lunch often so today was nothing out of the ordinary..that was until I discovered that they now carry Gluten Free Muffins ( Banana Blueberry, Granola Peach, and Strawberry Peach). Being the vegan blogger that I am I had to try one ..just for the blog;).. I decided on the “Strawberry Peach($3.89) Gluten Free Batter with fresh Strawberries, and Juicy Peaches. This muffin was very good! You can taste the freshness of the fruit smothered inside and nicely baked GF batter. Spectacular… as is everything at JivamukTea. Always love stopping in to say hello to the kind counter staff and enjoying some healthy vegan goodness! Be sure and stop into JivamukTea if you are ever in NY.. or make a special trip;D.. EAT ClEAN!

JivamukTea Cafe

Yogi's Choice ($9.00)

Today for lunch I decided to head back to Union Square to my new obsession JikamukTea Cafe. I went for one of the amazing salads ( which I posted about here) but they were waiting for the lettuce delivery so no salad for me

Ginger Cookie ($3.00)

today:( I suppose that’s ok because it forced me to try something new. Other wise I don’t think I would have been pulled away from those salads of deliciousness;) So here goes they offer a Yogis Special that is a combination of 3 different dishes with a dressing.. ( some choices include: Seaweed, Rosemary Seitan, Kasha,Quinoa, Coleslaw, Sprouts, Seitan, Bean of the day, Grilled Tempeh, Kale, Millet, and Steamed Veggies) .. It looked good so I ordered the “Yogis Choice ($9.00) Grilled Seitan/Spicy Tempeh, Quinoa, and Coleslaw Served with a Mustard Vinaigrette. I loved this! Huge portion sizes fresh and healthy food! The proteins ( seitan/tempeh) were perfectly seasoned and delicious! The coleslaw was flavorful but not to saucy which is great, and fluffy quinoa to accompany them! The mustard vinaigrette is also one of the best dressings on the planet! Deliciousness in a bowl! In the spirit of trying new things I decided to order a “Ginger Molasses Cookie” ($3.00) Fresh Ginger baked together with a Molasses filled cookie. This was a yummy cookie! Very moist with just a hint of Ginger, mostly a sweet molasses flavor.. Very good with there coconut green tea! I really can’t say enough good things about this cafe.. It really has become one of my favorite places.. You leave feeling healthy and refreshed! 5 stars from me! Keep it up JivamukTea:) Eat healthy!!

JivamukTea Cafe

Beet Salad ($12)

I may have found one of my favorite places to eat here in NYC.. I tried JivamukTea for the first time yesterday..but it was so good that I was drawn back today I decided to try a couple of semi new things to review for you..so here goes:) I loved my salad so much on my first visit that I decided to get another one…just with different ingredients:). I got the “Marinated Beet Salad” ($12.00) A blend of Spring Mix, Marinated Beets, Walnuts ( I opted out), Carrots, Cucumbers,

Whoopie ($4)

and Sliced Granny Smith Apples. For my protein I added 1/2 Grilled Seitan and Spicy Tempeh ($3.00) LOVED this salad as much as yesterday! Spicy proteins with a crisp sour taste of the granny smith apples with soft marinated beets and crunchy veggies. I can’t say enough good things about the salads at JivamukTea.. if you go here try a salad!! For dessert I decided on the “Pumpkin Whoopie Pie ($4.00) Fresh Baked Pumpkin Batter filled with a Tofu Whip

yum.

Cream. Absolutely divine ( just look at the pictures)! It was giant though, so it was perfect for me to take half home for later! The pumpkin was fantastic..makes me think of fall..hmm. another fantastic meal at the JivamukTea Cafe.. Head on over.. you won’t be sorry!!

JivamukTea Cafe:

So today I decided to try a new place. JivamukTea Cafe. a hidden treasure in NYC if you will. I was a little skeptical because this cafe is located inside of a yoga studio in union square…which caught my attention.. So I had to head over and try. I love that I’ve found a place right in the middle of Union Square.. There are a few places *around* the area but this is literally steps away from the train line. So here goes … my thoughts on my dining

Green Coconut Tea ($2)

experience this afternoon:) I will first say that unless someone tells you about this cafe of your familiar with the yoga studio you won’t know about it.. The cafe is located on the 2nd floor of the yoga studio…I loved the atmosphere when I first arrived.. Very peaceful and a warm and friendly staff with amazing smelling food coming from the kitchen! They have a 100% Vegan and healthy prepared menu which includes: Salads, Sandwiches, Mixed Protein Plates, Baked Goods, Smoothies,

Spicy Tempeh Salad ($5)

Soups, Breakfast, and Daily Specials. So much to choose from! You order at the counter and bring it to your seat ( and they make it all fresh and have it ready within minutes!) My server recommended that I start of with a cup of ” Coconut Green Tea” ($2.00) Fresh Green Tea Loose Leaf with a delicious hint of Coconut. This was the best green tea I have ever had.. it was simply amazing..like dessert in a cup. YUM! I then decided for my main entree I would get the “ Spicy Tempeh

Rosemary Seitan ($5)

Salad “ ($12.00) Tempeh Croutons topped with Spicy Peanut Dressing, Diced Onion, Cherry Tomatoes, on a bed of Spring Mix Lettuce” This was one of the greatest salads i have ever eaten! They give you a huge bowl filled with SPICY tempeh that is cooked with the perfect seasonings.. Great portions, filling and healthy! I will say this dish lives up to its “spicy” name… Generally I find that in vegan language spicy doesn’t live up to my expectations but by the end of

Cookies ($3.89)

this meal I was ready for a HUGE bottle of water ( but I like it that way). *must try this salad* In the spirit of vegan blogging and needing some goodies to review, I decided to get a side order of the “Rosemary Seitan” ($5.00) Seitan, Kalamata Olives, Dried Cranberries, Diced Celery, with Onion and Garlic. Once again I was pleased at all of the flavors that popped out at me in this dish! Everything is so flavorful and healthy tasting ( I guess because it is?  ha) I adored both dishes! I also got the choice of 2 of there 6 House Dressing Choices which came with the meal. I Chose ” Turmeric Tahini” a Creamy spiced Tahini dressing that was amazing beyond words! and ” Mustard Vinaigrette” (served with dish) A tangy sweet Mustard Dressing..delish! Each day they bake all of there desserts on the premises fresh to be served for the day! I opted to get 2 Cookies ( one to take, although I did have a piece ya know;)} First the “Oatmeal Raisin” ($3.00) Fresh Gooey Oats Mixed with delicious Raisins baked together to form this fantastic healthy treat! Love this cookie! It was almost as if I was eating a fresh bowl of oatmeal. MHM. Secondly I got the “ Chocolate Chip Cookie” ($3.00) Basically a Chocolate Chip Cookie, except healthy and fantastic! One of the best vegan cookies I’ve had to be honest. I love everything about this place! Everything I ate was absolutely fantastic! So glad I stopped in and found one of the Gems of Union Square.. As I said unless someone tells you about this place you’ll never find it so here it is IM TELLING YOU ABOUT IT! GO:) Eat Clean and Healthy Kids:)!
